Recently John Fitzsimmons was featured in his own national
TV commercial for Aleve. In this commercial he performs a
very short version of Wolf Trap. This was in fact the whole
reason John was chosen for the TV spot. You can see John’s
commercial here.
John Fitzsimmons became seriously interested in magic
at the age of twelve, after seeing the card to wallet trick
in a restaurant. He then started working for free at Arizona’s
oldest magic shop three days a week during his summer break.
In October they hired him for Halloween help and he worked
there for seven years.
In college John took an intro to technical theatre class
and was hired by his teacher as a lighting technician for
a large audiovisual company. Within three months he became
the lead technician and was running the warehouse. He was
also doing tradeshows for a special effects company nation
wide, all while performing magic for the Phoenix Suns, Phoenix
Mercury, and the Arizona Diamondbacks.
John then worked freelance audiovisual so he could help a
friend open and run a magic shop in Phoenix. He also performed
magic full time for three years and consulted for various
theatrical productions including, Keith Barry’s TV special
in Ireland. John also advised Andre Kole and his crew when
it came to upgrading to intelligent lights. He also flew out
to Oregon to co-design and program lights for Andre’s
world touring show.
